Financial Milestones Achieved

BayTech-Oakland has achieved a long list of financial milestones that guarantees sustenance of the plethora of extracurricular programs that contribute significantly to the current academic success and quality.

  • $450,000 start-up grant that provided BayTech-Oakland for the first year of operation in which extra start-up costs overburden most new schools.
  • Starting as early as the first year of operation, BayTech-Oakland established major infrastructures such as state of the art computer and science labs, school network, multi purpose room, phone system, and other equipment needed for various school clubs such as Lego Robot Design, SimCity Future Design, Math Counts.
  • BayTech-Oakland has achieved an ADA of 96% with growing academic success shown by the standard test results.  BayTech-Oakland’s financial planning does not compromise the academic success.  Low student/teacher ratio (18) is one of the key contributors of this success.  BayTech-Oakland has focused on bringing extra resources to maintain its program designed to serve economically disadvantaged student population.
  • BayTech-Oakland has applied for various federal and state grants to support the current programs and future growth.  BayTech-Oakland’s search for further funds is a continuous effort to serve our students better. Until today, BayTech-Oakland has secured a total of approximately $730,000 extra funding since the start-up grant.  BayTech-Oakland has already received $200,000 of these funds.  The list of extra funding is shown in the following table:

  • To diversify the financial resources, BayTech-Oakland has also established a network of business and individual donors who has contributed a total of $340,000 up to date.  These contributions consist of equipment donations, cash donations, and employee matching funds.
  • BayTech-Oakland has been working with local contributors providing short term low or zero interest loans from a diverse pool of sources to overcome cash flow problems caused by the delay between state funds and increasing enrollment numbers. BayTech-Oakland’s strong community connections resulted that countless individuals and businesses in the community supported BayTech-Oakland in the past by giving zero line of credit as an example may seen in one of the support letters. On the other hand, the need for soft revenue sources continuously decreased, and they are not critical to solvency at present.
